NVHC Board Changes

New chair and vp

On Friday, August 23rd, our Board of Directors held an official vote to restructure the Board. While it brings some sadness, I, Sierra Winter Smith, am stepping down from my role as Board Chair. However, I am thrilled to hand over the reins to Maggie Wyatt, a wonderful community member who will lead with passion and dedication.

This change allows me to focus more on my work with Sunshine Community Health Center, as both organizations are rapidly growing to better serve our communities. Although I will no longer be an official member of the NVHC Board, I remain deeply involved, especially in efforts that intersect with the work at Sunshine.

It has been an honor to help grow this non-profit, engage with our communities, and build connections. I am confident that the new leadership will continue to drive the organization forward, making a meaningful impact.

In addition to welcoming Maggie as Board Chair, we are excited to announce that Ryan Romans has joined as our new Vice President. With four official board members, NVHC is now poised to submit final paperwork for 501(c)(3) status and pursue grants and funding to address gaps in our communities, many of which will be identified through social determinants of health screenings.

Thank you for your participation, your encouragement, and your trust. Together, we will continue making our Northern Valley communities a better place.

With gratitude,

Sierra Winter Smith

Former Board Chair
